Default C4 IFS and IRS

Looking to install a kit into a old 57 Chevy truck that will let me use c4 front and rear suspension. There is also a kit that lets me use c5 or c6 as well. While its a lot more money will it be worth it? Don't plan on racing it ever but I want the truck to handle as well as it can. Not sure how much changed between c4 and c5 vettes. Or is their upgrades I can do to c4 suspensions that will make it better?

Also for the IRS. How much power can they handle? Seems most I find are the Dana 36 (I think) but heard some came with Dana 44. Not sure if I should go this route or do a live axle.

Planning to do a turbo 6.0 so it will see 600+ when it is all done.

The later c4's I think lt1/4 equipped cars or the majority of them came with the dana44. If you're going to make 600 at the wheels then I wouldn't even think about doing a 36. Go the 44 route. I think the suspension setup is really similar between c4/5 but the c5 setup is definitely better tech. Especially when it comes to the front hubs. If I were you I would rather go for the c5 setup for max effort handling setup especially if you're going for a pro touring style truck.

Is the stuff you're looking at from Hot Rod Jim? There are upgrades for the C4 IRS, but the C5/6 geometry is so much better, I would strongly consider it.

600 is pushing the c4 IRS, even the c4 dana 44. If you're too hard on the C4 D44 You'll be popping stub shafts, half shafts, and splitting cases.

There are always guys who put big power through the D44, but they also tear them up regularly. corvetteforum.com is a good resource for that discussion.
