c5 brake upgrade?

Hey guys I want to upgrade my brakes on my 98 T/A .. i want to go with the c5 brakes but since I have tt2's 17 inch on front, I heard it won't work because the way they curb.. is this true?.. also what year c5 would I have to get them from and what would I need for the set up. .or any recommendations? thanks

Hello,

We have also heard the TT II's will not clear, its how they contour inside I think.

C5 brakes will be 97-04. If you select C5 calipers they come flat black and if you select Z06 calipers they are red, same caliper just different color.

We make the brackets to preform this operation. Along with the brackets is a full list of all the GM part #'s needed to complete the installation. You can also check out WS6 Store... the carry the full swap kit that includes the UMI brackets.

They will fit, and i know because i ran that setup before. You are going to need at least a 10mm spacer on each wheel for they to clear. And i suggest if you put a spacer on the front wheels to upgrade to slightly longer ARP wheel studs

Those are the worst wheels to have if you want to run decent brakes. Maybe look into some drag brake kits.

Stating the obvious, but buying arp studs and spacers are way cheaper and less hassle than buying new wheels. Besides not many people run that setup so it'd be unique.
