Default Torque arm question

I've noticed some torque arms have different mounts on the front. Some have a round pivot that uses a bolt to mount to the crossmember. And some torque arms use a bushing on the end and use a bracket/brace to mount to the crossmember.

Just wondering why are they different?

I have a th350 crossmember with relocation bracket that mounts my stock crossmember using a bushing and bracket/brace.

Just what the manufacturer chose. The bushing style like you have is more like a stock setup and more "street friendly" (using that term loosely) as the other style you talk about is more drag race oriented but is vstreet friendly as well. BMR has both and seems that thejust street car guys run the stock style like you have and then the drag race type use there other type that has the rod end on it. Also with the rod end you have more adjustability than the type you have.

Thanks Scott! That's what I was thinking... I may have jumped the gun when I bought my bmr crossmember, now that I'm looking I should have went with the rod end style since my car is a track only car.

If I want to switch I guess my only option is to sell what I have and buy the other style... That sucks!

Scott is definitely correct. The full length torque arms with the torque arm relocation crossmembers are a more street friendly setup but they will also work at the track when set up properly. We have many guys that run single digit 1/4 miles times with the setup you have. With that being said, if you are building more a track only car there really isn't any reason to use more of a drag race oriented torque arm setup since you won't be so worried about drivability and ride quality.

How fast do you think the car is gonna be when it is all said and done?

IMO. What you have if it's adjustable is better than stock. If your still on stock springs and shocks and other stock components as far as suspension is concerned I would focus money on upgrading those parts first and then revisit the torque arm, but that's just my opinion.
