Default BMR Torque Arm Question.

So I installed a couple of parts on my car this weekend. I will first list them out.

1. TA001 - Torque Arm, DOM, Adjustable, Bolt-in from BMR
2. RSK031 - Rear Suspension Kit, LCA's and Panhard, non-adjust from BMR
3. Strange S60 rear (Drive shaft not made/in yet)

So my question- On the tail-shaft of the transmission (M6) there is a sensor right by the end of the TQ arm. The clearance between the two is very small as it sits on the lift. I mean they are really close and I am wondering if that sensor/plug is at risk of damage if I were to run over a bump, pothole, or Justin Bieber. So is this normal or is something up? Picture provided for refrence.

Is your torque arm still mounted on the Trans? If so I'd suggest going with the Trans crossmember relocation kit. Trust me it'll save you broken tailshaft housings. Ask me how I know...

That clearance is very tight, I'm assuming whatever bushing you're might have some flex and mobility under hard acceration, might cause contact with that sensor.

Does that Trans cross-member relocation kit put the Torque arm in the same spot by the sensor or does it push it away a bit?

It removes it from the transmission completely hence you don't risk breaking the tail shaft. Here is the one i am using for reference.

The clearance gets pretty tight between the torque arm and that sensor but you will be fine. The torque arm moves very little front to back as the rear suspension articulates.

Like others have said it also wouldn't be a bad idea to get one of our torque arm relocation crossmembers (TCC006) to get the torque arm off the transmission as the torque arms puts a good amount of load on the tailshaft housing.

He is another local F-Body guy in the area and actually came by and picked a torque arm relocation crossmember up yesterday from us. I am sure he will come back and give us an update on how his install is going.

Kyle and you guys made your case with that crossmember and yes I am glad I got it. I can report it is installed on the vehicle. However I am running into a different issue ATM. The BMR Torque arm is hitting the tunnel while driving. Now I am using the outside holes on the arm which might be the issue. What sucks is that the inner holes will not fit over the S60 rear. I called kyle and he said in order to fit the inner holes over the S60, I will have to cut some material off the arm bracket. Kyle did E-mail me a diagram which shows what to cut so I will try that and see what happens. Other than that I can try beating the tunnel out to get the clearance needed. Will update.

Ok, I cut that torque arm right where BMR said to cut and it fits the s60 on the inner holes. Now it does not seem to be hitting anything. Just need to get the Driveshaft put in and we should be good to go. BMR has got a quality product.
