Default Viking Coilover Install Trouble

Ran into an issue when mocking up my front viking setup. The shock and spring will not compress enough to allow me to get the upper ball joint set in place. My initial thought is to lower the spring down further, however i started around 6 inches from the ***** to the bottom of the spring. Has anybody else ran into this issue before?

I also had a very hard time getting my stock control arms into the MWC k member. The slots are EXTREMELY tight where the front bushing on the control arm slides in. I am worried about the alignment shop not being able to adjust in if needed.

Run the lock and perch nut down to the last thread on the shock. This should allow everything to install easily. You should then be able to adjust them to whatever position you need for your desired ride height.

Don't forget to put anti-seize to the shock threads and the thrust bearings if you are using them!!

I don't see any thrust bearings in the pics. They make life a whole lot easier when you adjust the ride height, especially after you've had the coil overs on for awhile.

Yeah, for sure use the thrust bearings and apply a generous amount of anti-seize. I had the same issue as you until I threaded the lock and perch all the way toward the bottom of the shock. Doing so will give you plenty of room.

You got very sound advice already about the shock install but to bring up the stock a-arms the pockets are set at factory width so installing the arms they will be snug. A good alignment shop won't have any issues getting the vehicle aligned.

If you have anymore questions or concerns please feel free to ask.

The thrust bearings are on there, installed directly under the spring per the directions. I coated the tower with aluminum anti sieze as well.

Thanks. I had to bend the tabs slightly and hammer the crap out of the arms to get them to fit. It's a very snug fit. If I run into any issues, I will give you a call!
