Default DA shock adjustment question

First this is for a track only car so calm down.

On the extension setting is it okay to run them at the softest settings or will this damage the shocks?

None of the settings should damage the shock as long as it's not bottoming out at either full compression or extension.

I'm pretty sure it will fully extend when I leave since it pulls the wheels. I currently have it set on 2 or 3 but if it won't hurt i'll set it up on 0 to get it to leave a little higher off the line.

Just wanted to make sure with it on the softest setting the shocks won't get damaged when it pulls the wheels off the ground every hit.

Hope that makes sense.

I agree that in "full droop" with your car that the front shocks have a good chance of being bottomed out. This could very easily damage the shocks if this is the case.

I've heard mention on YB forum of guys fabricating limiter straps in the front to prevent damage.

If your pulling the front wheels I would adjust the front compression accordingly to absorb the blunt of impact when the car comes down.

Thanks. I've set the compression to 8.

I would look into limiters. The shocks do have internal bumpstops, but hitting them consistently will wear them out prematurely. There are a few companies that offer some nice travel limiter options, or you can go with the good old fashioned chain to swaybar mount from the frame rail
