Adjustable shock advice
Adjustable shock advice Alright so long story short, I'm in the market for some adjustable shocks, most likely single adjustable due to price. Right now it's just a bolt on 02 Camaro, will eventually be turbo'd, getting suspension out of the way first. Right now it's lowered 1.5"-2" per previous owner on lowering springs with stock style shocks. I'm hearing a lot of good things about the strange shocks, but looking at the fronts, I'm seeing two different part numbers (s5269 and s5271 I believe they are) my question is what is the difference in the two, and which would be best for my application. (Street driven and raced, very little track time) Also wondering if I'd be reusing the springs the previous owner has on the front now, or if I'd have to replace em. Does strange make a front kit like Viking that includes the shocks, springs, spanner wrench, thrust bearing, etc? Any help would be appreciated.
the S5269 and S5271 are essentially the same shock, just the S5271 "race version" comes with an upper spring hat for use with a 2.5" diameter coilover spring. The S5269 only comes with the lower seat and is designed to be use with a stock style spring, with use of an adapter plate. Qa1 also makes a hybrid spring that is a 2.5" spring that has the top end coil design of a stock spring.
