Default Issue installing UMI torque arm

so I've been trying to put this thing in for two days (a little after work each day) and I cannot get it to line up. I have a moser 9" and it's like slightly angled. Do I need to undo my lower control arms? The bolts on the rear don't line up, and if I bolt the rear bracket to the car and then try to get the joints in they don't line up. Not to mention it hits my exhaust. So any pointers? Thanks!

From your description it sounds like you need to shorten the bracket up.

Our bracket is made with 2 sets of holes,The first set of holes can be cut off with a grinder to allow more clearance on a moser.

If this isn't the solution please give me a call here at the shop and we'll get your problem resolved.

I normally recommend people to let the rear end hang and support the chassis with a lift or jack stands, then attach the torque arm to the rear end first. Then you can use the leverage of the arm to locate the front of it in the mount. Much easier way of doing it than trying to fight the bolts in the back with everything bound up and not moving

Moser 9" you use to be able to use both sets of torque arm holes with no trimming, but I don't know if anything has changed there, shouldn't have. They are a pain to get lined up at times but it will go on. Like Eric mentioned install at rear end first then attach front mount 2nd.

Here's as close as I could get. I didn't want to use the second set of holes, because I already have to move the duals over quite a bit with the first set of holes. If I just drill out that rear hole a bit can I run it like that? My car was perfect before with nothing rattling or hitting, so I'd like to keep that if possible. Lol

have you tried installing the rear first and then the front mount as suggested above?

I'd say if you can trim enough to get the bolt in you'd be good to go. That bracket is pretty strong and a little bit of grinding would be fine.

Make sure you use a nice thick washer on there to support things.

I haven't. I'm going to try that as soo. As I get home. I couldn't imagine being able to get that front clamshell together easily that way, but I'll give it a shot. If that doesn't work I'll drill. The closer I can get it to the driveshaft the better. So I don't have to move the exhaust to a crazy offset

Ok so it's in. I couldn't imagine using the inside set of holes, the arm is already super close to the tunnel, and my fuel lines and exhaust. It had to go in the back first then the front as suggested. And the driveshaft had to
come out. But it's in, Thanks all!
