Default 2000 TransAm EBCM only?

I have a 2000 Pontiac WS6 with traction control.
I fried the EBCM by trying to jump start my car while reversing the jumper cables in the dark.
Stupid. I know.

Is it possible to get just the electronic part (6 torx bolts to remove my dead one)?
I can only find the whole friggin' assembly containing the EBCM and the brake fluid modulator. But I only need the electronic piece. Does a separate part number exist for it??

Yikes, are you sure you fried it? Did you let out the magic smoke or something?

Yes, you can remove only the EBCM from the modulator body. I replaced the module on my truck with an AC Delco Reman. unit, but yours is pretty expensive.

Another option is Module Master, they're pretty popular for ABS module rebuilds, and it's a much cheaper option.

You could also head to the junkyard and grab one, or buy one from one of the many guys on here who have deleted ABS.

Are you SURE the BCM is fried and not dead battery, fuses, relays, etc.?

Pull the BCM out from behind the dash. Easy pull connector then pry it open to check the board. Usually its a quick fix of repairing the burnt solder connection, release capacitor, or replace whatever is burnt up.

EBCM, not BCM. EBCM = Electronic Brake Control Module
