Default Pinion Angle

I have been reading post after post on pinion angle and getting it set. I have a UMI Stage 2 suspension setup. It has the non-adjustable upper and lower control arms in the rear on my 4 link. I have the drive shaft currently out of the car. I took two measurements today. One on the tail shaft of the transmission, and then the other on the pinion shaft that comes out of the front of the differential.

The transmission is pointed downward by -4 degrees.

Then the angle on the shaft coming out of the front of the diff is pointed up 4 degrees.

So if I have -4 on the trans tail and 4 degrees on the nut on the diff wouldn't this equal 0 degrees on the pinion angle? My rear end is not adjustable from UMI. So do I need to get a +2 degrees on my pinion angle for a 4 link? Do I just shim up my transmission cross member 2 degrees?

All help is greatly appreciated.

Do I need to move this post? If so any suggestions where I should put it on here?

Your correct on the 0 degree pinion angle. Currently the two angles cancel each other out. It just depends on what you want it to be set at.

Yes you are at zero. Taking the trans down or the rear up sends you positive, sending the trans up or the rear down takes you negative.
