clicking from under center of car
I have this clicking sound I get once I let off the gas. I believe I'm hearing it happen too when I first press the gas, but I'm not sure as the exhaust may drown it out. It appears to be coming from under the center console. I recently replaced my clutch. I believe, I may have not torqued the bushing mount to the torque arm enough when reinstalling it. I remember barely fitting an open ended wrench in there, let alone a socket wrench so I never torqued it to spec. I did tighten it to where it seemed tight though. Also, I didn't bother to replace the bushing as it seemed in excellent condition. Rubber wasn't cracked, dry rotted, and still seemed very elastic. I made sure my transmission mount was torqued to factory spec. Can the torque arm bushing be the culprit? What else should I look for?
Can you tell us more about the clicking? Is it timed to the turning of the drive shaft? ie: Does the frequency change if you are in different gears with your foot off the clutch? Is it metallic? etc.
That bolt is a tough one. I found I was able to get it tight by getting the right socket and socket wrench in there. Experiment with your shallow, deep, extensions, etc. and you should get a good combination. You can also use a "socket cap" to get a better hold with a regular wrench and use any socket like a spark plug socket:

I noticed clicking a few years ago when I removed the damaged carpet and mass backing. Turned out to be zip tie ends holding the ebrake lines hitting the drive shaft. Cut the ends off and stopped the clicking. it probably clicked for years but the sound insulation from center console kept anybody from noticing.

So, the important thing to understand is the frequency of the sound when the throttle is applied. If it is the same, matched to the RPM's of the engine, then I would look for things forward of the transmission. If the frequency is timed to the rotation of the drive shaft (the sound frequency changes with the gear shifts for the same RPM) then I'd look for things towards the back of the car, like that torque arm bushing.
