Default Bilstein install help, one quick question

Which picture is correct. Does that metal cap go right on top of the shock body or does it go on top of the washer for the bellow to hang on.

I ended up just leaving that metal cap off completely and it worked out fine. Just took that big washer there on the bench from my Koni's and put it on top of the little washer on the shaft and all was good. These were just temporary shocks for about a week anyway until my Koni SA's warranty replacements arrived. Sure made me appreciate how much better the Koni's are though. My advice to anybody is spend the extra cash and get the Koni SA's! There's really no comparison. Like a whole different car with the Koni's.

Yes, you tap that on to the top of the shock body (after you've installed your spring seats ).
