Default Newbie question

Okay, I thought they were the same thing, but in some of my searches I see people talking about having BOTH, so obviously they are different.

What is the difference between a crossmember and a k-member???

I guess techinically, the crossmember is part of the K member. The crossmember would be the part that runs under the oil pan. The K-member would be the whole assembly. Unless they are talking about a transmission crossmember. That is the bar that runs across the chassis that the rear transmission mount is bolted to.

Did that help?

cross member is the one hold your tranny. k member is the one held motor mount and lower control arm which is right below the oil pan

Thanks, guys. So K-member = under the engine, Crossmember = under the tranny. Got it.
