Default Coil overs?

What Coil overs would you guys recommend? 2001 Tran Am street only, no track, some highway and traffic and curves. I've read that going coil overs makes the car feel a little stiff or things of that nature. I really want to lower my car just a bit but don't know how much because I know mt exhaust will scrape on certain un-leveled driveways etc. and i believe Coil overs would be perfect for me since i can adjust the height. What do you guys think?

Coil-overs give "some" adjustment, but you really want to keep the shock in somewhat centered in it's stroke to keep it from bottoming/topping out and damaging the piston inside the shock.
A good seller should be able to get you the proper shock length/spring length-weight combo.

I just did Vikings on my 68, and the ride is way better than the 5-way SA rear shocks and Comp 90/10s up front.

Not really an apples to apples car comparison...but ride IS better with DA's so you can tune the ride YOU want.

I just installed UMI springs with Viking coil overs on mine. I use mine mainly for weekend cruising and some track time. I haven't drove it yet since the install because of the weather up here in PA. Plus got a few more things to do before summer to it.

Technically all the front shocks on the 4th gen are coilovers. The difference is some are adjustable for ride height and others aren't. The rear can be converted to coilovers.

If you only want to lower the car a bit then I'd avoid the coilovers and get a full set of lowering springs and get a good set of adjustable shocks to tune the ride how you want.

I just installed Viking coilovers on the rear of my 91 Z28. Really the only reason I did this is because of ride height and the double adjustment shocks and I'm right around 900 whp. If you're only looking for lowering and stock or mildly modified power just get a good set of springs for your car. Vogtland makes really good springs that are very consistent all around and won't break the bank

When it came time to replace my 15 year old Strano/Koni shock setup, I went with the Ridetech coilovers.

I've installed them but the car is still on jackstands. I'm looking forward to driving it with the new setup

I installed the front bumpstops that came with the kit and replaced the rear with OEM without the metal spacer.

Because they are a bit funky of a mod. They aren't on the shocks. They get mounted to the shock tower.

I didn't put any in mine when I just did the rear. It doesn't look like there would even be enough room to put them in there. I do have my shock settings fairly stiff but not harsh

I wonder if mounting them to the factory upper A arm would work?
