LS Steering Rack Hopefully someone can shed some light on this. I've installed a LS Steering rack with the LS Steering Shaft into my 1994 Trans Am and the steering wheel is 180* off. I've checked that the input shaft on the rack is centered (2-1/4 turns each way center to center) what else is wrong? This is the last piece of my LS Swap puzzle lol
The shaft on the rack-n-pinion is keyed so that the through bolt on the steering shaft collar will slide onto the shaft and align with the bolt hole. If the keyed portion of the shaft on the rack is facing towards the engine then you should be good but if it's not and turned towards the left front tire then the shaft in the rack wasn't installed correcty at assembly.
