Default Thinking about converting to Manual steering?

I drive my car maybe once a week at best, its a H/C and nitrous car, always looking for weight reduction mods, and just starting thinking about converting to a manual rack. I dont really care about a stiffer steering wheel, but really what some weight off that front end. Would installing a rack be that difficult to do? And would I need an alignment after? also, I could get rid of the P/S pump, hoses, and run a shorter belt right?

Ya running a manual rack isnt bad at all, it is harder to turn than stock, but not near as hard as turning with the stock rack and PS disabled. The install is pretty easy, and you will need to get it aligned, they will need to adjust the bumpsteer

I have the Madman rack and it is a very nice piece

This **** sucks! It's not so bad when you're moving, but when you're trying to park.......
