Default quick Camber question>>

From the factory I read that camber comes at a +1.0, and should really be put to -1.0 for little better handling.

Will negative camber bring the wheel lip closer to the knuckle and spindle. Right now I'm about 1" away from that notch in the metal bar behind the front wheel. will this reduce, and if so, how much?

Well, too late now as I have my order in for custom wheels. The big problem was if I went larger, I would only have 0.30" of clearance, then factor in suspension and wheel flex etc, was wondering how much if at all camber would move the wheel in closer to the knuckle and spindle.

But to answer your question, neg camber willnot reduce any clearance from the spindle or knuckle to the wheel lip.

An alignment does not alter suspension clearances. It merely changes the geometry of the WHOLE suspension in relationship to the body of the car.

I'm running -2* camber (LGM lower A-Arms) and 17x11 rims. The alignment made no difference in clearance issues.

16x10 rims here with -2.5 camber and no clearance issures. You might even have slightly better fender clearance with negative camber because the top edge of the wheel will be tucked in farther away from the fender lip.

As for spindle clearance, there is a bump on the spindle that lines up with the rim that you can grind off to get more space. I didn't have to remove it, but I did anyway because it looked close. That would be purely an issue with wheel width and offset though; a wheel alignment wouldn't change spindle clearance because the spindle moves with the wheel.
