Default HELP! broke brake sensor on back of spindle!

During my engine swap, I broke the little sensor off that plugs into the back of the hub, that sits in the spindle. The whole sensor housing broke off, is there a replacement part i can buy?? or do i need to replace the whole back part of the hub or whatever it is? Anyone have cost and part number?

yes you need to replace the whole spindle, the ABS sensor is a part of the hub, don't have a part #, go to your local dealer and they should be able to take care of it for you.

Yup, sucks.

You'll need a hub.

Suggest contacting SDPC if you don't have a local hook up... local dealer tried to rape me for one.

The part# for the wheel hub w/ speed sensor is 7470587... As mentioned by WILWAXU, check out SDPC... I think they sell it for around $190 which is a good price for a hub assembly.

So I need the hub, not the spindle then. Man that SUCKS, Ive sunk a LOT of money into this project.

MTCHNTX......which chain auto parts store sells them for $100????

Another question.....can I still drive the vehicle without this sensor??? Will I just have an ABS INOP light on? or do i HAVE to replace it before i can drive the car??

You can drive it w/out the sensor. If you have ASR, then the ABS will definitely go into backup mode, meaning you only have EBD (electronic proportioning valve) and no traction control. If you don't have ASR it should still go into back-up mode with only the one sensor bad. Just keep in mind that you don't have ABS anymore and you'll be fine. I'm pretty sure if you lose back up EBD, the "BRAKE" light will go on also...
