Default C5 rotor upgrade

I'm looking to buy a set of rotors and maybe pads off of a C5. My question is can I mount the rotors without having to worry about buying any other parts? I want bigger rotors so the TA has more stopping power. I think the 93 had the smallest diameter rotors of the 4th gens. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that one.

your very wrong

no way will they fit with out some specialty parts. i actually have a set of bob bishop brake brakets for my car. these brakets allow me to use C5 rotors and calipers on the front. cutting the stock spindel is required as are 17 in wheels.

get some hawk HPS brake pads and make sure your fluid and lines are good and new and youll be very surprised at how well the car will stop

I believe all years had the same diameter rotors, which was 10.8 inch in front. I didn't notice any difference between my 97z's brakes and the brakes that are on my 93ta. You may consider looking at running a ls1 front brake conversion, runs around 250 for everything you need. I put them on my ta and the difference is night and day, a LOT less brake fade too. ls1 brakes are 12in too, you can definetly notice a difference in size between the two.

On the LS1 conversion... around $250 for everything new? That's not too bad actually and seems like 12 would be a vast improvement alright.

How much did you get those brakets for and where?

$275 for just the brackets. everything else will cost $450. thats the calipers and all that stuff. you cant get them any more, sorry.

bigger rotors will not make you stop faster, they will only allow you to stop harder repeatedly. by that i mean if your road racing the car you will not suffer brake fade as quickly as an identicle setup(ie same pads, caliper style) if your using larger rotors. larger rotors allow the heat to go somewhere other than the rotor surface and pads.

if you are suffering brake fade and your not road racing the car, you need to change your fluid and get better pads, changing to a larger rotor is a waste of money.

I only notice the C5 difference when I do repeated high speed stops. Other than that they dont feel like they are a huge difference. They look cool as hell though.
