Rusted Baers Help!!!!! I have BAER rotors on my '98 SS and they rust all the time. They are slotted & cross drilled. They rust all along the hub & in between all the grooves. I live about 2-3 miles from the beach, which has a great deal to do with it, but I have after market 5-spoke wheels that really let the rotors show through. And they look ugly. Any ideas on how, if possible, prevent the rust from occuring?????

Unfortunately this is something that plagues brakes on a constant basis. Are your rotors zinc washed??? If not then that is something I hate to say is "normal". Since the brake pad does not sweep the chamfered holes or the slots then the surface rust just builds up. I've had a lot of friends with that same problem. I am not sure how to fix it, but there are a lot smarter people than me on this site, so maybe they can help out. Other than scrubbing each slot and hole I don't know.... 
Ya know...since the holes and groves dont see any friction ..is it possiable to clear coat them with VT High temp clear coat ..making sure that you dont get any on the face of the brake.....possiable....clean and polish just ones..then apply clear..then just maintanence cleaning
