Broken Torque Arm!!!!!

Broken Torque Arm!!!!!
I was riding around tonight and a WRX pulled up beside me at a red light. He started reving up so the light turned green and when I hit 2nd gear I heard a noise. Had my brother bring the car trailor and when I got it home I jacked it up and seen what had happened. I have a Moser 12 Bolt in the car and it takes 4 bolts to bolt it on. THe top of the torque arm holes had broke out and the rear end is twisted up. Is this a commen problem or is it just a freek thing? And my next ?? is I was thinking about the Spown touque arm and if it will clear aftermarket exhaust?
Thanks for your replys in advance

It's common with the Moser rears
I just did it myself about a month ago...
The Moser rears utilize 4 short bolts to secure the torque arm to the rear housing...the problem is that the bolts can vibrate loose, it may not be noticeable during normal driving, but when you go for that one hard launch bam the arm moves and breaks by elongating the holes.
Strange 12 bolts and 9" utilize two LONG bolts exactly like the stock rear does
When you get a new torque arm make sure to red loctite the bolts and you can even safety wire them to each other so they don't loosen up again.
Also, since your new arm will be much thicker then the stock arm you should get bolts that are a tad longer.
