BMR driveshaft loop
BMR driveshaft loop I bought a bmr driveshaft loop at the end of last year, and just recently I decided to put it on and it wouldn't work. The placement of the tunnel brace mounts is the same place that my y-pipe merges into 1 pipe it is just too wide for the space allowed by the loop. This means I cannot get the loop up to the mounts. The best I can do is about 3/4 below the mounts. Can I shim it, and if so what kind of material should I use? If not, what ds loop is better. I was told the SLP might work better, but I don't have that confirmed by anyone. Any help would be great. BTW its a hooker y-pipe and jet hot long tubes on an LT1

my bmr ds loop didnt fit either.i shimmed it with the washers that came with it so that it wouldnt hit the floorpan tunnel,but i still had to cut and reweld my exhaust pipe in order for it not to hit the exhaust.if i were to buy another i would probably go with the lakewood unit i heard they fit really well.
Ya I was searching on EAD Performance and saw the BMR driveshaft loop for sale, it had this warning at the end.....NOTE: Not intended for convertibles, will not fit with BMR Trak Pak. Due to the infinite variations of exhaust combinations, aftermarket driveshafts and aftermarket torque arms, this loop may not fit your particular application without shimming and/or exhaust alteration.....sucks but im sure you can alter something to make it fit...Goodluck

DSL's are a tough business since there are SO many exhaust/TA configurations out there. The BMR is one of the least mod-tolerant DSL's and also has shitty ground clearance IMO. If you have duals or a custom-Y, your best bet is probably the Lakewood DSL. You can pick them up from Jeg's at around $50.
