Default Tuned Bilstein Shocks

Hi

If I want Bilstein shocks and spring package with tuned shocks, as apposed to the HDs, what are my options? I know SLP has a package with custom valving, but does anyone else?

Thanks JA

I liked the SLP Bilsteins pretty well with Eibach LT1 Pro Kit springs. They have a bit more rebound than the HDs which is a good thing if your running stiffer springs. Sam Strano sells revalved Bilstiens which I think have even more rebound than the SLPs {I think, please find out for yourself}.

Rebound is the resistance to down-travel in a shock. Compression is the resistance to up travel. Think of it this way, when you hit brakes hard on an old worn out shock, the front end dives down bad. This is a lack of compression. On the other hand, when you accelerate, the front end rises bad. That is a lack of rebound.

Drag racers want very little rebound so that the front end will rise and transfer weight to the rear tires. Road racers/autoXers generally want more rebound damping as it settles the car out when thrown into corners and accelerating out of the corner.

I'm sure I've missed the fine points but that explanation will get you close.

Call Sam Strano at www.stranoparts.com and discuss.

Sam's specialty is revalving Bilsteins to match spring rates.

His 'other' specialty is driving - that man can drive!!!
