1996 Front Strut Help
Heres the scope.
I payed to have new struts put on my car last year. 3 way adjustable koni.
Now tworards the end of the year i started to get this loud bang up front.
So i tore it all down. And the left and right side strut mounts are blown out. THE Metal piece in the middle is gone. And the guy used big washers at the top of the mount to kinda keep it all together.
Long story short. I now have billestine front struts. (not on the car yet)
I also have new strut mounts. (also still in the box )
Now when i tried to install them. Im tottaly lost !!!!
Where does the Rod from the strut sit on the bushing. ??
Is there anywhere i can find a diagram or somthing that will show me how to install these new struts.
All i got from my kit was a brass cap. A little washer , and the strut.
Any help would be awsome
thanks

Wow, there's so much wrong with what you said. Maybe it scared everyone away.
1st, these cars use shocks, not struts
2nd, there is no 3 way koni
3rd, lots of spelling mistakes.
Anyway, I'll try and help.
First take the shock (Bilstein), slide the lower spring perch onto it. This is where the front spring will sit. There is a plastic molded peice that sits under the spring. Slid it and the spring on. Make sure the shock has the gold colored cap on the top of it's body.
Slide the bumpstop onto the shock shaft.
Slide the dustboot on. Note, the bumpstop might be built together with the dustboot.
Put the big washer on the top of them all.
At this point, you have to compress the spring.
Install the upper spring perch (top cushion mount). The spring will rotate to match the grooves cut in it. This piece will have the 4 bolt assemblies that attach through the fender. On top of this sits a smaller rubber coated piece that is V shaped. You put the small washer and nut on and start tightening it down until it bottoms. The shock shaft will be squeezed together with the upper spring perch. Pack lube it there to prevent rust later on. You can then undo the spring pressure.
I know it's hard to follow without pics, so I found a site that might help.

Just follow along.
Let me know if you need more help.
