The torque arm is bolted directly to the rear end on one side and it transmits the rearend's power. Just like above, the stock piece is stamped steel and is weak and will flex(robbing power) or in extreme cases bend all up.
The Lower Control Arms locate the rear FORE and AFT. Adjusted in differential (seperate from eachother), they can set thrust angle. When adjusted together, they pushe the entire rear end forwards and backwards.
The Torque Arm controls the ROTATION of the axle tube. Acceleration and deceleration both result in torque forces being applied to the axle tube. The torque arm attempts to transfer these forces through the rest of the vehicle and hold the rear end stable.
