Pads Kinda a stupid question but i used the search and didnt come up with much. Anyways, I have a 2000 ss and im about to leave for college so i figure i might as well do the brakes now. Rotors look fine, but my question is just simple break pads, what does everyone recomend. Iv heard to use ceramic, iv heard carbon metalic, and like some say just buy the good ones at auto zone. Anyways, please chime in.

Hey, keep in mind that the rotors may look fine, but you'll need to turn them, especially if you change pad compound. Do some searching and reading on brakes on here and you'll learn that the bedding in process actually transfers some pad material to the rotor surface and if you change compounds, they might not be compatible. Also, if your rotors aren't within enough spec (I can't remember min. thickness specs) to turn them, you'll need new ones. For new rotors, I've heard great things about the AutoZone rotors... I'm about to switch to them. Please don't do the Xdrilled/slotted thing.
