Drag racing? or Handling?

In any event, I'd stay away from BMR. There are some things I just won't buy from Wal-mart.

Not to detract from the inital question, but do you plan on lowering the vehicle? If so what is your purpose of modifying the suspension? I've witnessed a lot of guys who purchase sway bars, then upgrade with a different set of springs, then discover the performance properties of their suspension is not very desirable (performing worse than before). Also, you forgot to mention your tire and wheel sizes, and if you are planning to upgrade those as well.

I've never tried any of BMR's stuff, however I use mostly LG Motorsports G2 products. They are quite a bit more, however LG has a wealth of experience and knowledge that is relfected by the quality of his products. Whenever I had a question about anything, the sales staff were also very helpful.

If you find their stuff to be a bit out of your range, then I suggest talk to Sam Strano, especially when it comes to suspension parts, since he knows suspensions very well. He chimes in here quite a bit also.

While brand name in itself doesn't matter, the quality of parts and customer service does. Please be aware that it doesn't always pay to buy cheaper parts than will have little benefit to performance, and some parts do actually worsen the vehicles performance.

I know it's a tall order, but the best thing to do, especially on a student's budget is to plan very carefully on how you spend for the parts on your vehicle. From my expereince, there is no worse experience when you spend money on items that are cheaper in price as well as quality.

BTW, when you mention track, the term track by itself is ambigious. Do you plan on drag racing? Autocross? Road Racing?

IMO

1. Subframe connectors if you don't have them already (BMR boxed)
2. LCA relocation brackets (BMR weld or bolt-in)
3. poly/rod LCA's (UMI)
4. Torque Arm (BMR)

I don't know what the BMR bashing is for. Any mod from any sponsor/brand can break under the right conditions. Fortunately, BMR products are not built shitty.

I would get the SFC's. As fars as the PHR and LCA's, they are not a must. If you are not wheel hopping, they save the money. Sway bars were a noticeable difference. I am using the 1LE Sway bars and they ,easure 32mm (front) and 21mm(rear). I have had my BMR Componets for 5 years and have beat the crap out of them and still perform well. Nothing wrong with BMR.

I have BMR subframe connectors already and am planning to do the following mods and then stop. FTRA intake, slp lid, torque converter...maybe a few other bolt ons. Which suspension mods would be most beneficial for that set up? should be my last question on suspension...for a while..ha

I run LG suspension parts and looking forward to adding some UMI stuff this year too. There have been situations where BMR products have failed and some of thoes parts are vital. Ask mitchintx about how his panhard bar broke in a turn. (i think). Thats not a situation I would like to find myself in. There also have been some K-member failures after BMR advritiesed that they could withstand use on a road course, and have had failures on the street on street tires. I just wouldnt risk it. Im not saying theyre stuff is crap, just that its not the choice parts for my car.

Chassis bracing is always good... I'd start with SFCs... I need some... just don't have 'em yet.

If I remember correctly wasn't the panhard bar that mitch broke 4-5 years ago ?and a VERY old design?

Poly ends on the LCA's might have some adverse cornering effects. By that I mean rear end binding when the rear trails the car around a corner. That's why I recommended the poly/rod LCA's. Will give you stronger LCA's but you won't get the binding. I hear UMI has good ends so you shouldn't have to worry about too much extra noise either. Also, I cannot recommend LCA relocation brackets enough to anyone. It really was amazing what they did when my car was stock height. The PHB is more geared towards improving lateral movement of the rear and controlling it.
