Default DMS Spring Help Please!

I’ve got my DMS springs and Bilstein shocks in my garage ready to go onto my car. My questions is about the rubber boot on the rear springs.

Did you guys take yours out when you lowered the car or are the spring cut to sit level with the cup in there?

Sorry, dumb question I know…but I don’t want to do this twice!

Thanks guys,

D

I left the stock rubber boot off and put 5/8 heater hose around the top coil...

That's the spring isolator. If you remove it, you will lower the rear past the advertised drop of the springs. I'd recommend leaving it in (the isolator has a groove cut into it that matches the top coil of the spring for indexing) and then taking a look at the car to see if you like it (remember that the car will settle when you roll it after lowering it). If you want it lower in the rear, it's then easy to just pop the rear springs back out and remove the isolators, covering the top coil with a piece of heater hose to prevent the metal on metal contact.

Initially, I left my isolators in place, but then I bought a 12bolt, which raises the rear about 1/2" to 1". I then removed the isolators and put some garden hose over the end of the springs. I have only put about 300 miles on my springs, so if it settles more, i will put the isolators back in.
