Default trac lock

My fianace has an automatic 2002 trans am ws-6 and i think the trac lock is out in it.While on the lift both tires spin different directions i tried to load one tire while idling in drive and the other just seemed to spin faster. Is there another way to check this with out pulling the cover or is this just normal.I have not tried to burn them down to see if it leaves two black marks.

best way to check is still to light em up, if the posi is shot you will get the one tire fire..

You can't just spin them to test it. The whole idea of a posi is to be able to go around corners (one wheel turns faster than the other) without it locking the tires together. Just go and light `em up.

The fbody doesn't have a Trac Lok diff like the Mustang. What I mean is, whereas the Mustang uses clutch packs to engage the limited slip, the fbody uses gears. Keep this in mind.

when you punch it around a turn can it burn one whell or should it spin both. it depends how i take a turn sometimes it burns both and other times it will spin one. when i do a burnout it spins both with 2 black even lenth patches of rubber. it doesnt make any noise at all either. is this normal for a posi to do
