Default Problems with HAWK pads?

I just installed my second set of HAWK pads in 18mos. I swapped my rotors for a set of Powerstops last year, and the first set of pads went on just fine. I just put my second set on, and they won't release! I tried to take the car around the block, but everytime I let off the gas the car stops because the fronts are engaged. When I put the calipers on I had to squeeze the pistons down as far as they would go, and the caliper was still tight as hell going on. Anybody have any idea what the problem is?

Sounds like the front slider pins are stuck. The extra heat from the Hawk pads makes it even more critical to keep grease in there so they don't sieze up. My bet is that yours are siezed. DO NOT drive the car this way. You'll overheat the rotors (and possibly crack them), you can destroy the pads (they will wear quickly) and things will generally not be pleasant. Pull it apart and see if you can free the pins and grease them. If not, you'll need a pad abutment bracket and a pair of pins from your dealer or a salvage yard.

Good luck!
