when to replace upper strut mount?

when to replace upper strut mount? my car has 70k on it, and i'm changing the front shocks from SLP Bilstein to QA1's so I can adjust the height so i don't scrape my STS kit piping. Should I replace the upper mounts too while i'm there? I guess what i'm wondering is if there is a time to replace them or if i should just replace them if they're damaged or get damaged while replacing the shocks. i can't afford to have the down time if i bust one.

I was in the same position as you about a week ago. My car has 50k on it and I was installing qa1's on the front and was wondering if I should change the top strut mount. I can tell you I just went ahead and reused them and have put 750 miles on the car since and have had no problems with them. So I say reuse them unless use see that they have abnormal damage.
