Bleeding??
I keep reading that if you let the master clyinder run dry, that your going to regret it/have a bad day...well anyway can someone explain to me why? I took my caliper off to paint them and opps didn't know that you shouldn't let the master run dry. The worst I could see happening is air getting in the system, and I only took off one caliper, im gonna paint the other one next week, can I just hook the caliper back up, fill the master back up and would gravity bleeding it work? or is it gonna require a two person bleed?

You could bleed them then if the pedal is still spongy, then you have to take it to the dealer to bleed the whole system.
Reason you want to keep an eye on the master cylinder is because of the abs system.

if it runs dry, air will get in the master cylinder....and if you're lucky, the air could pass right through the abs system with just normal bleeding. you don't have to take it to the dealer, the worst you'd have to do is bench bleed the master cylinder and the abs system.

just gravity bleed the system and drive the car down the street and back and if the pedal is spongy go back and gravity bleed them again. That should get all the air out. I let mine run dry too and that's what I did and it worked. I read something about the abs cycling through and it gets the rest of the air out. I don't know about that but I know it fixed my problem
