what shocks to run with Eibach Pro Kit
Doesn't change the fact HD's are not meant for any lowered car, but they are better than DeCarbon's by a mile. Trouble is, because of the way HD's are built and valved, the higher rate/shorter travel takes it toll on the damping. Because you are basically pushing them beyond their original intent, much wear (which all shock do, they soften a bit with miles) will eventually put you in a place where you'll start to hop over bumps. Initially it's okay, but as time goes on, things degrade.
While they have a lifetime warranty, it's clear they aren't intended for lowered cars. Usually they get warrantied anyway. However, just the cost of removing, shipping and re-installing new "free" ones exceeds the cost of stepping up in the first place to something like a set of Revalved Bilstein's which have extra damping to account for the higher rate springs and shorter spring/shock travel... In short, they don't become overwhelmed by the springs with added miles.
