Replace stock shocks?
Replace stock shocks? I've done a search on the subject with several keywords, but can't come up with what I'm looking for. Basically, my car has the stock decarbons on it with a little over 61K miles, stock springs also. I was wondering when is a good time to replace the shocks. I'll be keeping the stock springs and just want to replace the shocks with something better. After reading a bit using the search, apparently swapping shocks shows a huge improvement in handling compared to SFC's or other suspension mods. I don't autocross (haven't tried), but do visit the drag strip every once in a while so I don't want the new shocks to hinder my performance there. It's more a street car than anything else, so what do you guys suggest?

anytime is the right time to replace the stock shocks... bilstein HD's sound like a good choice for you... great improvement over stock.. fair price
they won't control lowering springs, but you said you'd be staying with the stockers, so you're set

$329 for a set of Bilstein HD's would be the ticket here. HD's have their place and this is it! You should absolutely change them, you will be more than..... stunned at how much better the car drives in EVERY way.
