Default Is this pretty easy?

I have a question pertaining to painting my calipers. I plan on painting them soon and have bought the paint and brake cleaner. Are there any special tools I'll need when removing them? And will I need to sand my rotors? Thank you in advance.

Nah, regular hand tools. I jacked the car up and took off the wheels, then washed the calipers real good with a degreaser. When they dried I pulled the caliper off and hung them with some wire so the brake line would be damaged from being stretched or whatever. Before I started painting I masked off the wheel well, rotor and everything else that wasn't going to get painted with newspaper. Take your time and it'll turn out good.

And about sanding your rotors.. Why do you need to do that?

Just a question. So the calipers will slip right off? Thanks!

don't slack on the degreasing part, you'll be kicking yourself later.

If you get the Duplicolor brush on caliper paint, you don't have to take off the calipers. Just clean them very well. Use a foam brush not the brush that comes in the kit. Works like a charm! That said, it is very easy to take them off. Tie them up so the brake hose does not fall off.
