Dans2000SS

I'm changing my front brake pads and have some conflicting info on wear indicator location. My shop manual says to have the wear indicator on the outboard side and on the trailing edge , during forward rotatoion. But the pads I took off had the wear indicator on the inboard side, trailing edge during forward rotation. Since I've found some wrong info in the manual before I thought I would look into this. Does anyone know which way is correct?
