Default pinion angle

how do you set up pinion angle on a bmr adj. does car have to be level and is a good starting point -2 or 2 degrees

Car should be level and supported on suspension. Remove drive shaft. Measure angle at rear of transmission or crank pulley (should be the same--everything tilted slightly downward towards the rear). Measure pinion angle at yoke. Make the measurement at the yoke the same angle as the crank (or transmission, they should be the same) and then move it down half to one degree for a street car to two degrees for a drag car. These should be good starting points.

What exactly are you guys using to find the angles? And, where can you buy it?

they sell angle measuring devices at home depot, i found my in the tools section, had magnets too! was less then $10.
