Default Does Alignment affect gas mileage?

I ask because my car needs one and my mileage has taken a big hit, down around 80miles to half of tank. I just need to know, i have the rest covered except for the alignment part!

Thanks!

I'd throw out a thought that if you notice extra tire wear, your car would be working against itself by not planting the tires properly. The drag would lower gas mileage.

Any other thoughts?

No, probably trameling causing the steering problem. The front alignment would have to be a long ways off to effect fuel ecconomy. I would check it again for a full tank. The gauge isn't accurate enough to use a half tank as a measure.

An alignment wont help bump steer... only component replacement will... (well an alignment can help, but only if you reduce the caster by something like 3*.) Which I wouldnt recommend.

Does it effect mileage ?? Well sure, if it were like a 5/16 or more toe in or out.

You wanna improve your mileage ?? Dont drive it like you stole it all the time.
