Unhappy help with pads

tried to change front pads on a '99 T/A.Guide pin bolts came loose ok but wont come all the way out, just keep unscrewing.Caliper wont come off 'cause pin still somewhat in hole.Used clamps to push in pistons but can,t get caliper off.Are bolts supposed to just pull out when loose? Help!!

The bolts screw into the sliders and the sliders can spin. You are probably spinning the sliders (I've done this). If you look at the end of the slider where the bolt enters, you'll see two flat sides. You can use an open-end wrench to hold the slider still while you remove the bolt.

You were right,Thanks. What appeared to just be a spacer turning with the bolt was actually threaded.Your links were excellent also, and very helpful. It seems the service manual, which I have on DVD, neglected to mention this!
Thanks again!
