Default slotted rotors

can slotted and drilled rotors be turned on a brake lathe? i have heard different input on this.

Yes, any regular brake lathe can turn them down to the “turn to” specifications of the rotor. Just make sure that the shop you have turn them makes very light cuts rather than heavy cuts. This prevents the cutting bit from being damaged by the slot or hole.
I have found this statement on a few different brake FAQ sites.

I use to turn them all the time when I worked at Orielly's. Never had a problem.
