Default quick question about springs

alright i have a 4x4 2000 camaro SS.
im looking into lowering it right now. it still has stock exhaust but it will definitely be sportin some long tubes and trual dual exhaust some time in the future.
now im not going for the slammed look, but i want a set of springs to drop me maybe 2 inches max and actually improve handling.

i have an offer to trade my stock strut/spring combo for a strut/spring combo but with eibach sportline springs for 125 dollars.

the eibachs have 40k on them right now and the reason id have to swap struts too is because the top nut is rusted so taking it apart wouldnt work too well and would require new struts more than likely.

my two questions are, is the eibach sportlines a good set of springs for what im looking for (2'' max drop, handling, some ground clearance)

and would that be a good deal considering they are used and have 40k miles on them. how long could i expect them to last.

or should i just hold out and get a new set?

thanks for any suggestions.

Sportlines are awfully soft. They're going to give you a big drop, but by all accounts, the handling isn't great.

Start by reading the stickies at the top of this forum. One has pictures that will give you an idea of how much drop you'll see. Another gives some good guidelines for what is involved with lowering your car (alignment, rearend adjsutment, etc.). Once you've read those, you should have some idea of what you're after. I also recommend you call Sam Strano (www.stranoparts.com), as he can give you all kinds of advice about what works and what doesn't.
