Chrome Moly A-Arm and K-Frame
I was wondering, is there any significient advantages and dis-advantages when comparing chrome-moly (4130) lower A-Arm versus mild steel ones?
I heard arguements on both sides:
Advantage: Chrome-moly units, stronger.
Dis-advantages: Tends to fatigue crack.
Any input or comments on these subjects, I am specifically looking into both the Chrome-Moly PA Lower front A-Arm and Light weight K-member for my SS.
Thanks in advance <img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" />

Re: Chrome Moly A-Arm and K-Frame
70%/30% Street versus track, I guess go with mild steel.
Prices, on thunder racing web site:
Lower A-Arm, PA: $425 Mild, $495 Chrome-Moly
K Member: $439 Mild, $539 Chrome-Moly
If I am going with the mild steel one, I giess I am going to go with the G-2 setup. Thanks.

Chromemoly will be stronger, but it can crack on you(however, i've never personally seen it happen). If your car is driven alot, I would go with mild steel. It's only 1-2 lb. difference anyway. Plus, the mild steel will have a little more flex to it. That's what I'm doing.
