Cons of always running low PSI?

Cons of always running low PSI? I always hear with Nittos you should run about 25 street and about 20 strip. Over 25 will wear out the center. Why don't people just run 20 all the time then? There must be a bad side to always running 20 psi. I just never hear about it. I have Nitto's at 25 right now but I steet race alot so I want to drop to 20-22 psi to get better traction. Thoughts?

Re: Cons of always running low PSI? I ran my Nittos at about 28-30 on the street. The main reason for this is that they will not wear down fast. When you are at the track you can go as low at 16psi the lower the psi the better I have hooked espically with the more and more power I have gotten out of my car <img border="0" alt="[Pontiac]" title="" src="graemlins/formula.gif" /> Before you go out to race. Set the race up in the parking lot, and drop your tire pressure there and also do what ever you need to do.
Re: Cons of always running low PSI? i also drove mine @ 30psi on the street and the middle said bye bye REAL quick. @ the track i run about 18psi.
MOst of the people i know run them @ 25psi on the street for the best even wear and longevity.
Downside to very low psi is "cupping" the outsides will weardown aLOT quicker than the middle.
