Default front end aligment

Ok is my front end out of line or dose everyones car eat up the out side edges of the front tires? I have seen a few other fbodies do this. on my old stock tires they did this bad and i just got new tires and i dont want them getting worn out too fast.
also what are the stock aligment settings.

I'm getting my '99 Hawk aligned tomorrow and would really like to know if anyone has any experience with specs for spirited street driving.
Especially with the wide 275's.

Thanks alot,
John

Have your alignment shop set the caster and toe to stock specs...have them set the camber to negative 1/2-3/4 degrees. That is a decent street camber number...it will provide a little better cornering without sacrificing tire wear.
For a 17" tire, keep the tire pressure around 36 psi(cold) if you drive agressively...you could also install a 1LE front sway bar to help keep the car from leaning over on the tire during hard cornering.
Since it appears you have 16" rims...that is most of the problem...the sidewall is giving under the stress and trying to roll under the rim. The new alignment will help...play with tire pressures until you find what works best.

Thanks for the alignment info. When I went to the alignment shop my car could not drive onto the rack because of a couple of large triangles on the rack that would hit the underside of the bumper badly. Now I have to wait 2 weeks for another appointment at a more modern shop.

Can someone please post the stock alignment specs.

Thanks alot,
John

i don't know what the factory calls for on caster and toe... but the factory spec for camber is +.5 degrees

why do you care about factory specs? they're trash... but if you really want to know, just pick up a phone and call your dealership's shop

just do something like this..

-.5 to -1 degrees camber
maximum positive caster
zero toe

btw.. a shop that is more 'modern' does not mean that they own an allignmnet rack that your car will be able to drive up on... just gotta look around
