Default Torque Arm bushing install problems

I bought some prothane torque arm bushings and I'm having a hell of a time getting these on the car. I took both brackets completely off and drilled out the rivets, the prothane mounts come with new bolts and nuts, and attempted to install the bushings on the brackets. Well, the instructions say to keep the arrows pointed up as if they were on the car but it ain't working. The smaller outside bracket bolt holes won't line up with the bushing holes, now if I install it with the arrows pointing down it works. Another problem is how in the hell are you supposed to get that torque arm down far enough to line up the brackets? This is a pain in the ***, any tips would be helpful!

After drilling out the factory rivets, my Energy Suspension bushing simply sat in place of the old unit. It was designed in such a way that it's held in place when the brackets are tightened.

To get mine to line up better, I worked the floor jack a little. That didn't completely help the situation. I had to simply muscle it down AND get the clamshell bracket slipped back on the top bolt If I had to do it again, I'd get a buddy or my brother to help me.

Here's my little "write-up" on my install: http://www.scottsrides.com/smr00tato...m_install.html

Thanks, Wish I got the one piece bushing instead of this two piece prothane one. Guess we'll see how it goes. I'll try to use the jack as leverage to drop the torque arm down a little with the rear end and see if that helps. Either way it's going to be a pain in the ***. Thanks for the write up, that gives me some idea's'.

Got it done last night, that was a PITA of a job but was well worth it. My camaro feels like a different car now that the rear end is tight again. There is no more body roll and it plants the tires and hauls *** from a dead stop now. Thanks for the help!
