Default vibration while braking

It only vibrates the wheel when i am going like 45 and over. and its not under heavy braking at all. Could this be warped rotors? or is it just one of those normal things? kinda curios b/c my car is a 2002.

Its possible they might be warped a little, because if it was bad it would be shakin at even lower speeds.

There warped, mine had the same problems and the dealership turned them, the problem went away. Now they're wraped again...

When you go to the dealer, have them check for lateral runout. Runout is wobble when the rotor doesn't spin true. Turning on a rotor lathe will make the rotor true for spinning on the lathe's spindle, but if it doesn't spin true on the car's hub, it's only going to "warp" again soon. Your dealer should have the rotor lathe that will turn the rotor while it's on the car so as to get runout within tolerances. If he doesn't have the equipment find a dealer that does.

Drew

Mine's doing the same crap...I talked to 2 dealers already, and bascially, they refuse to order me new rotors...they said that the best they can do is to resurface them once, and only once...and that if it warps again, it's not due to a defective part, it's due to abusive driving...

Now, that's a crock of ****, because I baby that car, and it has only 4,400 miles on it...rotors shouldn't warp like this under normal driving conditions...

Personally, I don't like the idea of resurfacing them...it just makes them thinner, in which case they heat up faster, and warp again that much sooner...

From everything I've heard (and what I've experienced) it IS warped rotors and it IS "normal," in a sort of way. Stock Fbody rotors suck and they all warp. Dealers won't replace them or turn them because they are a "wear item."

Best bet is to switch to aftermarket rotors. Or, just expect to have them turned every 10k or fewer miles.

Stock rotors don't suck and they don't all warp. Mine went through more abuse on the roadcourse than any rotors would ever see on the street. They didn't warp and were never turned. I finally had to replace them when they became worn too thin to use anymore.

Warping is a molecular change which comes from improper heating and cooling of the rotor during it's initial use. ALL new rotors are "green" and should be properly broken in, or seasoned, because ANY rotor can warp regardless of whether it's solid, slotted, or has holes drilled in it.

Baer Brakes http://www.baer.com has instructions on their site, under FAQ, for seasoning new rotors.
