Eradispeed rotor squeeking....
Anyone else having a problem with squeeking?
I'm thinking of taking that one apart and back together, maybe something just didnt set right.
Anyone have any other suggestions?

So, I spoke with Larry at Carbotech. The Baer calipers are rigidly mounted whereas the stock calipers are floating (side to side). Larry attributes the squeel to the pads not releasing entirely when modulating the brakes and that the slight grabbing of the pads to the rotors causes the squeal. As you brake slowly, say stopping for a signal, you are modulating the brakes, eg slightly releasing the pedal. When you do so, the pads may not release entirely and thus set up a slight vibration which translates into sound, the squeal. He claims this is more prevalent with ridigidly mounted calipers than with floating calipers. I think Larry makes more sense than Rick.
Now if Larry is right here's a possible solution. Your calipers float on the slider pins. When you apply the brake, the piston extends against the inner pad, pressing it against the rotor. Then this force pulls the caliper inward forcing the outboard pad against the rotor. If caliper doesn't float freely, the pads won't release properly. Remove the two bolts that hold the caliper. Then pull on the rubber dust caps where the bolts came out. This will pull out the sliders which you should clean thoroughly and then lubricate well with high temp brake lube you can get at any parts store. If they're rusty, replace them.
If that doesn't work, don't bother with the anti squeel stuff in a spray can. I tried that and it worked for a short time and then the squeel came back. Hope this helps with your problem.

I'll try this either tommorow or Thur and let you know what happens.
