If your going to pound the brakes and get them hot then blanks are the better choice. I cracked a set of crossdrilled rotors due to heat so I switched to the Autozone blanks. The $40 dollar ones (maybe called Duralast?). So far they have held up fine with my aggressive Carbotech Panther Plus pads. I also painted the centers with high temp paint and they have yet to show rust!
If your set on crossdrilled, I can't help you.

I have Powerslot slotted rotors and they work great. There's still plenty of surface area for stopping and the slots help with heat. I was using Bendix semi-metallic pads, but they were terrible. tons of noise and dust and they got soooo hot. I'm using HAWK ceramic pads now and theyre great.

well I have used the autozones and the crossdrilled and slotted and have cracked both. the brembos are working very good and not having a problem, actually think that they are working better than the crossdrilled and sloted. I actually hated the autozones, **** from the get go, but maybe I just had a bad set.

imo.. don't get the drilled and slotted.
I drive my car daily putting 250+ miles on it a week in rain, snow, hail everything and Brembo blanks (no holes or slots) are the way to go. I did the drilled and slotted rotor thing all recomended by people on this board as being "great". Well they all warped and/or cracked within a couple months of true daily driving. Seriously just go Brembo blanks and leave the "cool" factor of the holes and slots in the rotors behind. Saftey and reliability is a lot cooler when it comes to brakes.

I went the zinc-plated slotted only Brembo's(no drill).......kinda best of both worlds!
Look good but don't sacrifice the integrity of the rotor itself. Slots aren't very deep, and designed for show!
All personal preference and objective driven (daily, autocross, drag, etc)

It's a good idea for several reasons, but primarily you'll see slightly more responsive braking as the stainless lines won't swell at all, meaner quicker braking response. Also look good and last a long time. i think 'noticeably' will depend on the condition of the hoses now.
