panhard bar?
Would someone be so kind as to explain what exactly this does and is used for. I know I need an adjustable one to complete my suspension mods to recenter the rear. But does it actually help in handling? If so how? Thanks.

Re: panhard bar?
well... you have a 3 link rear suspension... 3 links that hold the rear end in place...
2 control arms and one panhard bar...
the control arms keep the rear end from moving forwards or backwards...
the panhard bar keeps the rear end from moving side to side...
stronger parts make the rear end more stable.. that's a short explanation of how aftermarket parts will help handling.... polyurethane does not help handling when you put it in these components

Re: panhard bar?
The BMR PAnhard Bar was my last suspension mod and by far the most noticable one. The car corners a lot harder and the rear seems more stable now. Before the rear wanted to slide when doing slow speed hard turns, not it just digs in and corners. My best susp. mod so far.

As the others have said, the panhard rod locates your axle under a side load. A more robust PHR design will have more resistance to flex and provide more lateral stability to the rear axle. Once you remove and look at that stock stamped piece you'll be glad you replaced it <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
