I`ve cut off 1 1/4" off my bump stops and the rear still hit them. I`m worried about launching at 5500 and hitting the bump stops.I`m using Hypercoil springs(almost 2" drop in back)), stock shocks and right rear air bag and 26x11.5 ET streets. How much can I safely cut the bump stops or can I just remove them? Thanks

I wouldn't Remove the bumpstop. Depending on the size tires and wheels you have if the bumpstop is completely gone you will have tire to fenderwell contact problems, I did with my SS.
There is an aluminum spacer on the bumpstop that can be removed, that should give you an additional 1/2" of travel. I had mine out and had bigg problems with the passenger side tire hitting the lip of te wheel well, so I put it back in.

I definately would not remove them. I have an eibach pro kit with about 1.5" shaved off of my bump stops and mine still bangs like a banchee even on the street on a hard 2-3 shift. Shorter springs are hell on stock shocks this will just get worse and worse until you switch shocks. Go with some Hals.
